Privacy Policy

Who we are

Pocket Ellie is run by Ashni Melissa Mary Prabhu, based in India ("we", "us"). We are responsible for your personal data under this policy. Contact us at humanresourcesviber@gmail.com for anything privacy-related.

What we collect

• Account details: your email address and password (stored securely, hashed) so you can log in.
• Your notes: the people you save, their facts, "how I know them" lines, conversation history and dictation transcripts.
• Photos: only if you choose to upload one to a person's card (Pro/Student).
• Avatar choices: the cartoon avatar settings for each person.
• Quiz activity: your quiz attempts, scores and which facts you got right or wrong.
• Purchase status: your plan, purchase date and the payment and customer IDs Dodo Payments gives us. We never see or store your full card details.
• Usage analytics: how visitors move around the site (see Microsoft Clarity below).

A hash of your PIN is stored securely with your account to lock the app; we do not store the PIN itself.

Why we use it

Only to run Pocket Ellie for you: logging you in, saving and sorting your notes, showing your cards, quizzes and "Go say hi" nudges, applying your plan, and improving the website. We rely on your consent and on performing our agreement with you.

Voice and AI

When you tap the mic, your speech is turned into text by your browser's built-in speech recognition. That means your browser vendor (for example Google, for Chrome) may process the audio under its own privacy policy. We never receive or store the audio itself.

The text transcript, and the facts of a person when writing conversation starters, are sent to an AI provider — OpenRouter and/or the Lovable AI gateway, using Google Gemini models — only to sort facts into cards and suggest starters. We do not use your notes to train AI models.

Who helps us run the app

• Lovable Cloud (built on Supabase): hosts our app, database, login and photo storage.
• OpenRouter / Lovable AI gateway (Google Gemini): AI sorting, as described above.
• Dodo Payments: our merchant of record. It processes payments, handles tax and receipts, and has its own privacy policy.
• Microsoft Clarity: analytics and session recordings only on public pages: the landing page, pricing, privacy, terms, refunds and login page. Clarity is never loaded on signed-in app screens, so your private notes and PIN cannot be recorded. Login fields remain masked.

These providers may process data outside India. We only share what each needs to do its job.

What we never do

• We never sell your data.
• There are no social features: no friends, feeds or public profiles.
• Nobody else can see your notes. Each account can only access its own data.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your data while your account exists. You can edit or delete any person, fact, conversation or photo in the app at any time. Download your data or delete your account any time in Settings → Your data. Downloads are free on every plan and include JSON, a people CSV and photo links valid for seven days. Save linked photos before deleting your account, because deletion removes the originals.

Account deletion permanently removes your people, facts, conversations and transcripts, photos, quiz history, settings, PIN hash and login account. It cannot be undone. For accounting obligations, we retain only a minimal purchase record: payment ID, amount and currency (where available), and purchase date — no email, notes or account link. Dodo Payments retains its own payment records under its policy. Deleting your account does not automatically issue a refund; see our Refund Policy.

If you cannot use these controls, email humanresourcesviber@gmail.com from your account email for help getting a copy or deleting your account.

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and, if you're in the EU or UK, the GDPR, you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, withdraw consent, and raise a complaint. EU/UK users can also contact their local data protection authority. Send requests to humanresourcesviber@gmail.com and we'll reply within 30 days.

Be kind with what you store

Your notes are about other people. Only save information you're comfortable keeping about someone, that you came by fairly, and that you'd be okay with them knowing you remembered. Please respect their privacy too.

Children

Pocket Ellie is not meant for anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date above and, for important changes, let you know in the app or by email. See also our Terms and Refund Policy.
